About Me

XZanthia was born September 25th, 1979, in Lawrence Massachusetts and traveled throughout the United States with her mother for the first decade of her life. At the age of 11, XZanthia moved from Hollywood California to Land O Lakes, Florida, to her father’s nudist resort, which she now owns and operates.
Because of her life experiences, XZanthia had never really felt like a child. She has always valued self expression, experimentation, and education. These passions run deeply and continue to inspire her into her early 40’s.

Then known as Katt, XZanthia began attending school in Land O Lakes in ’89. Having not received a formal education during the long period of traveling with her mother, she worked continuously through the school years as well as summers to catch up with students her age.
Being raised at a nudist resort did allow for a lot of sleep overs with friends, and XZanthia felt isolated from her peers at a young age. During this time, she delved into the study of science, history and theology, all the while building her own expressive internal worlds. A blooming artist, many of her peers came to embrace her talents, and XZanthia found acceptance through her expression.

While enrolled at Hillsborough Community College, XZanthia would attend her courses, as well as sit in on additionally classes and lectures that she had not signed up for, sometimes at colleges she was not enrolled in. Her desire for knowledge grew wildly, she wanted to know everything there was to know. Unsure of what she wanted to do for a living, she continued to change her major until she eventually dropped out of school in 2001 to tour with the shock-rock band “The Impotent Sea Snakes.” XZanthia traveled around the US and more with Impotent Sea Snakes, as a fire performer, stilt walker, and back up vocalist until 2004.

XZanthia dabbled in acting when she was not on the road with Impotent Sea Snakes. She has worked with such stars as Tom SaviniBill Moseley, and Robert Englund. To date, XZanthia has appeared in 34 Feature films, 19 Music Videos (for such bands as ToolSociety 1 and Soulidium), and countless smaller scale film projects, including her own.
In 1999, XZanthia created Florida Modeling Network, a collection of models and photographers that would gather to build their portfolios. The network was a valuable resource for artists that operated for no profit.

In 2001 XZanthia moved to Colorado, settling in Denver to begin a new chapter. At the end of 2001, XZanthia started her first collective art gallery in downtown Denver. Soon, her project grew and progressed into the 10,000 square foot gallery, Gallery XZanthia, which showcased her own artwork as well as the works of many others. Along with art shows, Gallery XZanthia held community evens including Poetry Slams, Independent Film Festivals and raves.
In 2001, XZanthia created Colorado Modeling Network, a project with the same objective as it’s predecessor, Florida Modeling Network.
In 2009, XZanthia founded Illinois Modeling Network, at the request of her Chicago based friends.

In 2007, XZanthia decided to close the gallery and return to Florida, she went on to take over her father’s nudist resort. XZanthia had been traveling from Denver to Tampa several times a year to hold events at the resort, so when she returned in 2007, the Florida community was ready for her return.
She began throwing Naked Alien Foam Parties, Burning Mushroom Festivals as well as many other various events. In April, 2012, she had grown tired of the substance centeredness of events like these, she took a break to focus on her intentions until 2013.
XZanthia’s boyfriend of ten years, PJ, owns some land along the Withlacoochee river Brooksville Florida. For a time, this land became a retreat and live-in community focused on sustainability, called Sanctuary Earth. The project ended following a hateful, threatening act of arson committed by Brookesville locals.

XZanthia’s focus continues to be community building and artistic collaboration, film making, painting, and modeling. XZanthia currently sells her steampunk inspired sculptures on Etsy. She also continues to nurture a passion for natural history and paleontology. Her clothing optional resort hosts events every month and continues to be filled with gardens, mosaics, and other works of art. Her goal is to create a new, sustainable, live-in community for artists where a community shares knowledge and inspiration.
